yes , it is 00/9 from the quarry to loading point (rail) - all is now lifted but the preservation guys have moved in and the future look's safe ...

Carly's Guy , your idea for to use sandpaper for track ballast was used , and wall lining paper templates were cut to track bed shape and granite ballast glued with PVA (white glue) - once satisfied with trains/track running it will be ballasted with the same color .

hi Lisa here , just a quick update , mr track is installing some water rough's on the layout and for them that dont know here's a short video of locomotives picking up water on the move ...

hi CG , for some reason unable to post a picture , Water trough's - I believe there a few in the US railroads (water pans ?) Google will tell .

its quiet on here - hope every thing is ok at Holly's place

A great video. Sad to see them at the end when they were all in BR dirt livery.
Good views of traveling over the troughs. Very tricky to get it right. If the train was going too fast not enough water would be picked up. Even trickier if double-heading! Nover has them on the Southern.

nearest trough's to us was Danby Whiske (Thirske/Nothallerton) on the East coast main , believe to be last set to be modernized (re-laid , new pumps , filter . water softener) early/mid 50's - as kids we never got there , as it was in middle of nowhere also about 40 mile away .

Tried to post picture but could not enter the photo album , using the Peco/Wills set (2 of) - double track , and modelers license
