Hi Bob, car going in for MOT tomorrow Getting them to do the thermostat as well as I'm not as flexible as I used to be and won't manage it. Ford said they would put a daignostics
scanner on it and charge me £69 + VAT for the privilege . I said I was so sure it was thermo stuck open and I didn't want to pay that for something I already knew, Took me ages to convince them of this and was on the point of saying whos bloody car is it anyway. Takes 1/2 hr to even move the temp gauge,especially in this cold weather Jim Self doubt creeps in doesn't it but I'm pretty damn sure I'm right. |

![]() Anyway you do find most ford gauges don't read that high anyway, and if the motor is staying cold the gauge will have a job to get off the ground in these cold days. The fact that the gauge read a bit, is saying the engine is staying cold, there are tests you can do if there is still on fix. Bob
