Hi Bob, car going in for MOT tomorrow Getting them to do the thermostat as well as I'm not as flexible as I used to be and won't manage it. Ford said they would put a daignostics
scanner on it and charge me £69 + VAT for the privilege . I said I was so sure it was thermo stuck open and I didn't want to pay that for something I already knew, Took me ages to convince them of this and was on the point of saying whos bloody car is it anyway. Takes 1/2 hr to even move the temp gauge,especially in this cold weather Jim
Self doubt creeps in doesn't it but I'm pretty damn sure I'm right.

Hello Jim, sounds like a dealer, it's easy to scan it and make good money, it's hands on to do what you want and not make much.

Anyway you do find most ford gauges don't read that high anyway, and if the motor is staying cold the gauge will have a job to get off the ground in these cold days.

The fact that the gauge read a bit, is saying the engine is staying cold, there are tests you can do if there is still on fix.
